Have you ever seen these bells? A reverse image search tells me that they're mass produced by a place called Jasco.




Emily found them in a shoebox with her Mom's stuff at the house that we're clearing and I didn't notice them until this evening since she put them on one of the bookcases. They caught my eye because I thought they looked familiar. I asked her about them and she assumes that they were a gift from years ago meant to represent her and her sister.

Now here's the REALLY odd thing. I went up to them and picked them up, trying to see if they were Avon. My mom sold Avon. They weren't but then it keeps nagging at my brain that we had these figurines too! They are from 1978 and/or 1979. I messaged my sister with the pictures and she thought so too, that my parents kept them on the upstairs bookcase with our encyclopedias. Sis also thought they were Avon and evidently Jasco sometimes sold things through Avon.

But the most bizarre thing is that there were a bunch of these bells make by Jasco. Whole sets. But these two particular ones are the only ones that Emily has and the only ones that I remember ME having growing up.

I have no clue what her end game is but Emily's sister needs to back the fuck off. Ok, the dumbass birthday party for the sister was over two weeks ago. Then we hosted again the next week for the twin nibblings' birthdays. The first one I posted about how it was awkward but seemed to go ok until I was in the bedroom and heard her sister throwing a hissy fit and Emily's older niece started crying. Whaaatever. Honey, keep that up and you'll soon be wondering why your kids went no contact once they're able to fend for themselves.

The twins party seemed a little better, though I could see her sister looking supremely pissy when we dared have pleasant conversation with her sister's ex. Good grief.

So today, Emily had to meet up with her sister at their Mom's nursing home to talk about her care. Her sister decided to get there at least an hour earlier than she told Emily (clearly a passive aggressive move and attempt to look like Emily is a shitty daughter). They're pondering whether it's time for hospice care. Neither of them know what that exactly that entails but evidently that must not have come up in conversation with the folks at the home. They did talk about if she has a fall or something, to not do any sort of large procedures, etc. Anyway, Emily's sister must've asked Emily to have lunch after.

Wherein her sister started IN on Emily. Trying to shame her for things such as the fact that we didn't have plastic containers for them to take home leftovers from her party (BITCH, WE WEREN'T EVEN TOTALLY MOVED IN) and supposedly how Emily didn't greet the current wife at the Twins' thing and yadda yadda yadda. She clearly didn't like that Emily was NOT about to apologize since she did NOTHING wrong but her sister doubled down and Emily told me she got up, told her sister "fuck you" and walked out, leaving her with the bill.

I told Emily I was proud of her for standing up to her sister but I know it bothers her. It seems to me that her sister isn't happy with the choices she made and is projecting it all over everyone. Well everyone is tired of your shit, Nora.

Evidently her sister tried taking charge when their dad died several years ago, trying to tell the lawyers that she was the executor, when Emily is the primary and Nora is the secondary. She can't be trusted. If her mom doesn't have long left, once the dust settles and they've split things, I think her sister is going to be surprised that Emily won't want anything more to do with her gaslighting and abuse.
